Biography

Andrea T. Green has been a landscape professional since 1986, working variously as a designer, as the wholesale manager of a nursery specializing in perennials and in retail plant sales. She earned an AAS in Ornamental Horticulture in 1988. Andrea has tended her own properties in Batavia and Oak Park, IL for 27 years. Her home garden serves as a test area for plants and landscaping ideas and provides hours of gardening pleasure. She lectures on horticulture and landscape design for The Morton Arboretum and the Chicago Botanic Garden and offers slide lectures on gardening and design to garden clubs in the Chicago area. Andrea is a board member of Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory and chairs its Education Committee, which develops and promotes educational activities to enrich the experience of visitors to the Oak Park Conservatory. Memberships include the Landscape Designers Association and the Illinois Nurserymen's Association. Andrea has qualified through the Illinois Nurserymen's Association as an Illinois Certified Nursery Professional.
