Design Process

The design process begins with a complimentary meeting to discuss your landscape goals and propose the design fee. If you decide that Andrea is the right designer for your project, she will continue with an analysis of the site and an exploration of your outdoor needs and garden preferences. She will interview you, share pictures of landscape designs and explore your color preferences to develop an understanding of the garden of your dreams. Then she will return for a later meeting with one or two colored conceptual plans for your evaluation midway through the design process. Colored Conceptual Plan for Mid-Project Evaluation You will receive copies of the completed plan for the solicitation of bids from landscape contractors or to guide you as you install the landscape yourself. Andrea offers additional services such as evaluation of landscape bids, plant placement before installation and owner training in garden maintenance.   After your final approval of the conceptual plan, the landscape design will be revised and completed, with detailed notations of plant selections and material specifications. Andrea values long-term relationships with her clients. You may prefer to develop your property over an extended time. Individual garden areas can be designed and installed individually, each growing toward maturity before the next part is begun. Alternatively, Andrea can develop a master plan which addresses every corner of your landscape, to be installed in its entirety or in stages.
